School Meals

Payments

We ask that school meals are paid for promptly.  School meals currently cost £3.35 per day, per child, for all children in Year 3 and above.  Where payments aren't made, the school will follow the following steps:

  • When there is a debt of £25 or more, you will receive an email reminder from the school.
  • When there is a debt of £40 or more, your child will need to bring in a packed lunch until the debt has been cleared and you will  be invited in for a meeting.  The debt will need to be cleared before any payments can be made towards school trips.

We understand that there are times when finances might be challening.  If you find yourself in this position, please do come in and speak with the Headteacher and we will see how we might be able to help you.

Universal Free School Meals

All children in Reception, plus Year 1 and 2 are entitled to a free, nutritious school meal at lunchtime through Universal Infant Free School Meals.

Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) is a program that provides free school lunches to all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 in state-funded schools in England.  The program has been in place since September 2014.   This is automatic and you do not need to do anything for your child to receive this.  You can still choose for your child to bring in a home packed lunch if you prefer.

Free School Meals

'Free School Meals' is different to the Univeral Free Schoool Meals offer explained above.  Whether your child is in Recption, KS1 or KS2, it is worth checking whether they are entitled to Free School Meals - this sometimes brings other support such as vouchers during holiday periods.
